As a clumsy child, Allie never participated in sports and never viewed herself as an "athletic" person. It wasn’t until her early twenties that she decided she wanted to become more active and stronger. She practiced Muay Thai for six years and loved the intensity and adrenaline it offered her but the impact it caused her body was not sustainable. She then found her way to her yoga mat in 2012. In 2016, she completed her 200-hour yoga certification through Yoga Alliance and has been teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga since. In early 2017, she was introduced to Pilates through the Pilates V internship program and started teaching in May 2017. She is extremely passionate about wellness and fitness and approaches both with a holistic approach. When designing her classes, Allie likes to draw inspiration from both Yoga and Pilates and believes they are great complements to each other. She loves connecting with her students by creating fun and intelligently-sequenced classes that cultivate empowerment, confidence, and self-awareness.
Although now a teacher, Allie is first and foremost a student. After completing her Pilates Certification, she has plans to pursue her 500-hour yoga certification, as well as TRX and Barre down the line. She also enjoys attending workshops on a regular basis to keep her knowledge-base up to date.
When she’s not on a reformer or a yoga mat, you can find her in her kitchen baking vegan goods and brewing Kombucha. She is a big fan of the outdoors and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and camping. She also loves traveling and attending concerts.

Angelynn Sawyer is a personal trainer because she wants to change peoples lives by helping them move and feel better. Inspired by her mother who passed away at the young age of 50 from Fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Angelynn is motivated to help her clients grow stronger while doing their best with what they have. Her philosophy is about over coming challenges, making progress, and celebrating accomplishments. Annie has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years promoting wellness to her clients in a variety of settings including studio, fitness, corporate and clinical. She is a practitioner of the contemporary Stott Pilates method and holds certifications in Comprehensive Mat/Apparatus, Injuries and Special Populations, Total Barre and is an Instructor Trainer at Mindful Movement Collective LLC in Newark. In addition she is an ACE certified personal trainer and Registered Dietitian since 1988.
After a low back injury from distance running and with the birth of her third child, Annie was introduced to Pilates and immediately experienced the rehabilitative benefits in both body and mind. In 2002 she started. her certification training. She enjoys designing individualized programs as well as creative group class formats that make Pilates accessible to all ages and fitness levels. Annie's mindfulness practice also includes spending quality time with friends and her three children; John, Juliana and Jocelyn. She also enjoys exploring nature with her two canine companions.

Not one to stand idly by this imbalance, she embarked on a new journey and along the way met the loving family of Pilates V.
As an apprentice of the Pilates V teacher training program, Ashley is focusing her studies on injury and modification. She is readily enjoying the positive consequences of her new wellness venture rippling throughout her life and those around her

Camilla is a health enthusiast who has a strong passion towards building a well-rounded lifestyle. She believes that preventative care is the most important thing you can do, and one way this can be achieved is through practicing Pilates.
Camilla received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California in Irvine. She has been trained in Pilates Mat and Reformer through Balanced Body University. She is also a 200-hour RYT Yoga Instructor certified through Yoga Alliance. She plans on refining her skills in healing the body through exercise to prepare for her future career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Camilla brings fresh enthusiasm and energy to each and every exercise class. She is driven to help others reach their own health and fitness goals. She uses her knowledge in psychology to help her students feel motivated and continue to challenge their limits, believing it is never too late to start living a healthier lifestyle, and it is always possible to be better today than you were yesterday!

Cecilia Pulido has been in the natural health & fitness industry since the early 1990’s. Originally raised as a California farmer’s daughter, she experienced endurance, strength, & power training exercises by helping harvest the family's apricot & walnut orchards, as well as doing general chores on the farm. She moved to Los Angeles, California in the late 1980’s to attend UCLA, and there in Los Angeles she got very involved in the fitness “scene” …from step aerobics, martial arts, fencing, to yoga, she loved staying fit and moving her body. Eventually, she came across a television ad which depicted a young Mari Winsor showing her Pilates exercises, and that truly impressed her. Mari Winsor was her first exposure to the Pilates Method. From there she continued working in the fitness industry as a hobby, while maintaining a full time career in sales and marketing, mostly in the natural products industry.
Towards the end of 2003, she relocated herself and 3 year old daughter to Puerto Rico for a sales and marketing project. When the project came to completion, she decided to remain in Puerto Rico but pursue a different career path. Her long time study and commitment to PaKua, an Ancient Chinese knowledge, lead her back to the fitness industry, and she began teaching fusing PaKua with her basic Pilates knowledge into all her classes. One day a student asked her if she had studied at Pilates Y Mas (the Pilates school of Lolita San Miguel). The school was unknown to her, but this discovery immediately lead to classes at Pilates y Mas (part of Ballet Concierto) and with San Miguel herself, and eventually the Polestar Program in 2010.
In 2015 she entered the Lolita Legacy Program and travels every 8 weeks to West Palm Beach, Florida where she continues her advancement in the Pilates Method with Danielle Armstrong (a former student of the late Romana Kryzanowska), and now the head instructor of the Lolita Legacy program. Beginning 2017 she will graduate from the Legacy program, and begin the bridge program in August with Daria Pace (grand daughter of Romana Kryzanowska) with whom she is currently taking private lessons.
In addition to being a long time instructor of fitness, she has earned significant ranks as a Kettlebell Master Trainer specializing in large group Kettlebell classes, is a TRX Black and Yellow instructor, and is 3rd degree black belted in PaKua Chinese Martial Arts, Sintonia Chinese Yoga and Ritmo - Martial Arts Dance.
Her firm belief in teaching the importance of proper kinematics before anything else, continue to define her teaching style and work. She has worked with special populations including those suffering from Alzheimer’s, Obesity, Severe Diabetes, Cancer, and Parkinson’s.
Recently, she relocated back to California, in the San Jose area where she resides with her daughter, now 16. She is extremely excited to learn more about the Pilates Method from other instructors and amplify her teaching capability and personal practice.

Craig has been a competitive athlete and fitness enthusiast his entire life, both on land and in the water. He is a Level 4 certified Pilates instructor for Reformer, Chair, Cadillac/Spring Board and Mat. He is also a certified personal trainer, swim coach and water polo coach.
After many years of lower back pain and sciatica flare ups, Craig turned to Pilates to rehabilitate and implement a long-term solution to maintaining a healthy spine and core. Through developing a keen sense of mindfulness and physical awareness, he has helped his clients grow, develop and improve their physical health & fitness in a safe yet challenging environment.
Outside of the Pilates studio, Craig maintains his physical fitness at the gym and through masters swimming. He has competed in numerous open-water swims including crossing the Maui Channel and the Golden Gate. He is also a nationally-ranked water polo referee and has maintained his lifeguard certification for 45+ years. Craig's idea of a perfect day is heading over to the beach in his VW camper and spending the day with his family on the sand and in the surf.

Erika decided to start practicing Pilates many years ago due to her lower back pain. Ever since, she has found Pilates to be a truly transformative method of exercise for both the body and mind. After several months of experience as a client, she noticed her back pain lessen dramatically, and she felt more energized and stronger than ever. She believes that Pilates has the power to realign, balance, and strengthen the body, all of which improve performance in all other activities and help prevent injuries. For her, Pilates has been healing both physically and mentally, as well as a great way to get in shape, stay healthy, and enjoy everyday life to the fullest.
Erika became a Pilates instructor because she loves helping others reach their personal goals, and she believes that Pilates is a safe and effective practice for people of all ages and fitness levels. She enjoys sharing Pilates with others and seeing clients experience the benefits as their bodies transform and they deepen their own practice. Her goal as an instructor is to help her clients achieve physical fitness through safe, yet challenging exercises that develop core strength and encourage a mind-body connection.

My name is Grecia Gutierrez, I decided to start practicing Yoga and Pilates approximately 6 years ago through a community college for PE credits and I decided to try Yoga and Pilates and I fell completely in love with it. It has not only helped me physically but mentally as well.
I became an instructor because like everyone else, I too have my own story to share and hope it helps someone out with their own journey. I have my personal experience with what it’s like to want to work out and pursue a healthier lifestyle but not having the correct guidance and full support team. I’ve had my share of struggles and low moments to a point where I had given up on myself but something inside me pushed me and helped me get to where I am at right now. Since I know what it’s like to take on a journey by oneself I want to be that support system for someone and help them and allow them the encouragement they not only want but need and deserve. Jeanette Boroumand: I am a Fitness fanatic - from boxing to yoga, running to somatic dance, I'll try any workout at least once. I am kinesthetic so its important to me to always stay connected to my body and I can accomplish this through working out and conscious movements.
I'm a Bay area native who recently transitioned from the tech world of corporate marketing to Pilates and the business of wellness for body and mind through movement, meditation and good nutrition. Sitting sedentary at a desk for 9+ hours a day, made me quickly realize how much pressure and lack of love our spines and core unit receive. I found pilates as a solution for nagging back pain, low energy levels and quickly fell in love. However, it was Mimi San who brought life to my love of Pilates and gave it meaning and purpose. Over the past year, I've been able to work with many different bodies and see the direct correlation between the breath and movement and the zest for life that Pilates provides.
Outside of pilates, I'm probably somewhere on the coast sitting by an ocean or learning from the great outdoors, on my yoga mat exploring new ways to connect with my body or spending time with my husband and Buddy - my cat.

She is an avid swimmer, and in her day, was a collegiate rower, triathlete and distance swimmer. Jen believes the combination of breath and movement are keys to spine health and greater physical prowess and posture. Her hands-on experiences (acute and outpatient care) and personal spine rehabilitation programs have allowed her to further her career in rehabilitation, maintenance and overall health. She is a healthcare professional with multiple graduate degrees and work experience as a medical writer, Physical Therapist /Ergonomist as well as a Pilates and Yoga Instructor.
Jen is a certified Pilates Instructor in the Classical method with Power Pilates using all apparatus. She routinely participates in continuing education through Polestar (rehab), BASI and Balanced Body and currently teaches individual client needs incorporating use of all apparatus and mat.
Hello everyone! I came from Australia with my husband and two very small children in 2001 (yes they are very large now). We planned to stay for two years. I started as a group exercise instructor teaching spinning strength training etc, but I’ve been teaching pilates for twelve years. I am fully certified with Stott Pilates including all the apparatus and I've also taken the Injuries and Special Populations course. I enjoy learning about other methods. I dipped into a Franklin Method course last year and this year I will be taking Tom McCook’s Pilates and Franklin Method Advanced Workshop Series for Pilates Teachers. I have taken some of your classes already and I am having fun with them!"

Judy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in Dance from San José State University. She has been practicing mat Pilates for 11 years and has been teaching it along with Reformer classes for more than 5 years. With her athletic background as a swimmer, dancer, and rower she enjoys teaching Pilates at all levels. Her specialties include personal training, sport specific conditioning, rehabilitative care, pre and post-natal exercises, and functional strength programs. Her experience as a physical therapist aide helps deliver modifications in all her classes to prevent injuries during exercise.
Judy holds certification in Balanced Body Pilates Reformer, AFPA Mat Pilates, TRX Suspension training, and Barre instruction. She emphasizes correct form and challenging workouts. Through each session, she ensures that each person has connected their mind and body to feel restored, realigned, and rejuvenated.

After several years of practicing Pilates, Lizeth realized the benefits that Pilates had to offer and enrolled in the BASI (Body Arts and Science International) Comprehensive Teacher Training Certification.
As a practitioner and trainer Lizeth is continuously inspired by how Pilates re-educates and heals the body. She is experienced in working with people of all fitness levels, including clients recovering from injuries, adolescents, pre and post natal, as well as athletes looking to gain a competitive edge. Lizeth likes to make each class challenging, but also encourages her clients to have fun, and to enjoy Pilates and all benefits!
A Sunnyvale native, Melinda has 10 years of teaching experience in San Francisco, New York City, and most recently the Caribbean. Fluent in both classical and contemporary Pilates, she is a PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher and NASM® Certified Personal Trainer with advanced training in biomechanics, neuromuscular control, and motor learning. In other words, NERD alert :) Her teaching style is fun, educational, and challenging. She loves to see her students develop strength and confidence while they learn to appreciate all their bodies can do.
When she’s not at the studio, you might find her on the dance floor, on a climbing wall, or strumming her banjolele. She is super excited to join the Pilates V family and finally teach Pilates in her hometown!
Michele Mandell earned her Exercise Physiology and Nutrition degrees at CSU, Chico, but her journey in the fitness industry started in the 80’s when she started taking Group Exercise classes. Right away Michele knew that group exercise (aerobics at the time) was going to be an important part of her life.
By 1987 she was teaching “aerobics” at three different fitness centers and spreading her love of fitness.
In 2008 Michele, who was now working in Santa Clara as a Group Exercise Director, started her study of Pilates. Right away she realized that Pilates was special. Anyone could participate, whether they were an 80 year old or a 20 year old competitive athlete and get fabulous benefits. Michele finished her Peak Pilates certification in 2009 and is currently working on a second certification through Balanced Body University.
Michele, a ACE certified group fitness instructor, teaches weekly classes in cardio kickboxing, athletic conditioning, BODYPUMP, and Pilates. She found a new passion in teaching at Pilates V, where she has found an amazing community of wonderful teachers and students.

After discovering her own passion for fitness, Selena's desire to help others on their fitness journey grew and she knew this was the path her career needed to take. Coming from a corporate background, Selena knows all too well the negative affects sitting at a desk slouched over a computer can have on your physical and mental health. While searching for a form of exercise that could undo all this damage, Pilates came into her life and the healing began. Selena found what she'd been searching for and immediately started taking the necessary steps to transition into teaching and now has the opportunity everyday to help others find their happy and joy that Pilates gives.
Selena is also TRX Qualified, has a passion for running and thoroughly enjoys working 1-on-1 with clients. She has a good understanding of injuries and able to modify exercises to accommodate the clients needs. She loves seeing her clients grow and being their biggest cheerleader.

Why Shannan Does Pilates: Shannan discovered Pilates as a very young athlete looking to cross train. She’s been hooked ever since! The intensity spectrum of Pilates is awesome. It makes her feel strong and powerful, yet it is gentle on her joints. It’s amazing how Pilates can provide a seriously kick butt workout, but can also be gentle enough to prevent and rehabilitate injuries by correcting muscle imbalances and improving flexibility and core strength.
